There is now a video response: www.youtube.com Full Story: www.davecarrollmusic.com – In the spring of 2008, Sons of Maxwell were traveling to Nebraska for a one-week tour and my Taylor guitar was witnessed being thrown by United Airlines baggage handlers in Chicago. I discovered later that the 00 guitar was severely damaged. They didnt deny the experience occurred but for nine months the various people I communicated with put the responsibility for dealing with the damage on everyone other than themselves and finally said they would do nothing to compensate me for my loss. So I promised the last person to finally say no to compensation (Ms. Irlweg) that I would write and produce three songs about my experience with United Airlines and make videos for each to be viewed online by anyone in the world. United: Song 1 is the first of those songs. United: Song 2 has been written and video production is underway. United: Song 3 is coming. I promise. Follow me at twitter.com . 1. It’s about time somebody stood up to them – do the right thing. There is always strength in numbers. Kudos to this vidoe. United got exactly what they asked for – publicity. And not the good kind.

  2. Apparently write a song about it and get famous? Contact sonsofmaxwell directly and see what they did?

  3. Its amazing what has to be done in order for companies to take responsibility for their actions. If they don’t want to deal with such issues they should start by contracting responsible individuals vs slobs. On the long run it will save them the money that they are trying to save from the beginning. Like they say the squeaky wheel gets the oil.I am glad that Sir Dave had the intellectual creativity to write this song.

  4. .I loosened my strings on my fight to seattle, played my guitar in a wedding, everything was great.
on my flight home to texas: they made me check my guitar because there “wasn’t enough space in the overhead compartments of the plane”, they put a tag on it saying “fragile item” and after i picked it up, it was broken.
United airlines says they’re not liable for musical instruments. i spoke to them in person, WHAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT THIS?

  5. i came accross this video because I was trying to google what could be done after my Epiphone Hummingbird guitar was broken yesterday on United Airlines.
they said there wasn’t enought space to carry it on board, i checked it with them, they broke it.
I am currently sitting at the airport because i was told I needed to come here to file a claim. The “head manager” says they are not responsible for my broken guitar. I am furious at the moment. what am I supposed to do!?

  6. …wishing you every good dream Dave….Greed is taking this country down the tubes…truly….Senator RMT Hunter in the film “Lincoln”…..
    actor/singer/songwriter/guitar player….

  7. it feels sooooo good to get the power back from these big corporations that take us customers for granted, I hate country but boy I love this song!

  8. Never flown United. Not a huge country fan. But years later, I’m still addicted to this song.

  9. This video is hilarious.
But… I think it’s great that he did this. Some business seriously think nothing will happen to them if they do something bad. It’s not like that anymore.
Bad word spreads faster so they need to stop doing stupid stuff.

  10. AMEN! Airlines need to stand behind their service! Passengers are people!
and we are the people that make everyday flights and are the core of their whole lively hood..

  11. Hm.. They usually don’t let you take them on board so what else do you do? Ship it greyhound haha

  12. IDIOTS! Only a true idiot would put their instrument in baggage under a plane. Everybody knows baggage handlers THROW LUGGAGE, in fact, they are called ‘throwers’.. smh

  13. This song was great, I really enjoyed it. This is what happens when a corporation doesn’t do the responsible thing, especially after a year of attempts.
